Easy to make a Buck, but..

A teacher is like Spring,
Who nurtures new green sprouts,
Encourages and leads them,
Whenever they have doubts.

Makes studying a pleasure,
Preventing discontent.

With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.

While it’s snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.

I used to dream about being a teacher. Somehow, it got lost along the way. Blinded by money and superficial aspirations, I forgot about the dream of doing something meaningful in life. Now, after months of job hunting, I have come full circle. My mum and Pia had a good laugh reminding me I made the wrong choice when choosing my university course. I was really depressed going for banking interviews and was getting bored and miserable going to work at my father’s office. But when MOE contacted me twice this week, I felt so happy. I dare not say I will make an excellent teacher. In fact, I have serious worries. But, I will try my best. I ain’t looking far yet, I just hope to do well for my class(es). Maybe inspire one child in one class.

It’s easy to make a buck. But…

It’s a lot tougher to make a difference.

I know it’s going to be tough, but damn am I looking forward to it.
